Data Campaign Workshop
Turning public transport data into campaigns with Young Campaigners of the International Transport Workers Federation
Public transport affects everyone. It is an integral and essential part of the modern world. Yet not everyone has a say in how it is run, and for whose benefit. Too often public transport planning does not include the views of the real experts – workers and passengers.
I was invited by the International Transport Workers Federation to design and facilitate a workshop for Young Workers at their annual conference. The participants came from 19 countries and between them spoke 6 different languages. The session was simultaneously translated.
In the morning we took key campaign audiences and messages and used data to build infographic stories for different formats. Groups could work on issues that were local and relevent to their courties and unions using data from the World Health Organisation and the Union.
