Second Saturday Cinema

Placemaking through the arts in East London

Second Saturday Cinema was a free family cinema club at the Rabbits Road Institute in Manor Park East London. A collaboration with Sophie Rigg, it was funded by a £250 Get the Party Started grant from Newham Council.

On the second Saturday of each month, we screened animated short films and ran art activities based on the films. The project was conceived as a way to build more connections between different communities in Manor Park and create a sense of place.
